Geert-Jan Blom

Geert-Jan has over 15 years of experience in real estate and facility management. As Solution Marketing Director at Planon, he's responsible for positioning Planon’s Smart Sustainable Buildings software solutions in the market that includes innovative technologies like the Internet of Things (IoT), sensoring, big data, and smart workplaces.

Geert-Jan's expertise extends across a variety of industries, including commercial, industrial, and public sector organisations. He has been a member of the Technology Expert Group of the Dutch Management Association, a Global Ambassador of IFMA's Workplace Evolutionary community, and a regular guest lecturer at business schools.

He also participated in the innovation field lab ‘Healthy Workplace’, a research project from Hanzehogeschool Groningen and Hanze University of Applied Science Groningen.

Geert-Jan is a proactive follower of market trends and a crucial driver of Planon's direction. He's also a skilled communicator and a frequent speaker at inspiration sessions, presentations, and business meetings to ensure Planon's innovation strategy and thought leadership is actively represented in the market.

Geert-Jan is not only a highly skilled professional, but also has a variety of interests outside of work. He enjoys staying active and being sporty, regularly attending gym lessons at the Planon headquarters and training for a Strong Viking run. He also loves to celebrate carnivals and spend quality time with his family and friends.

In addition to his active lifestyle, Geert-Jan has a passion for music, food and wine. He plays the flugelhorn in a brass orchestra and enjoys collecting vinyl records. Geert-Jan loves to spend time in the kitchen preparing all kinds of dishes, especially those that can be cooked on a barbecue.
