Sustainability at Planon

Our commitments to enhance transparency, accountability, and sustainable growth
Together we work to create a positive impact on people’s lives and our planet.

Organisations are seeking new ways to create engaging, healthy, safe, and resilient workplaces, that create social connections and put sustainability at the heart of their plans and activities. We are committed to providing them with the actionable and meaningful insights they need to transform the future of the workplace and build better connections.

Alongside developing smart sustainable building management software to support our clients on their journey to net-zero buildings, we are investing in improving the sustainability of our own operations.

In our daily activities, we adhere to sustainable business practices. We include these practices in our company values and standards, which are implemented in several ways. The UN Sustainable Development Goals play a leading role in our decision making and we aim to report under the CSRD and the GHG Protocol.

UN Global Compact

The Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact

Human Rights

As Planon, we have a responsibility to uphold human rights both in the workplace and beyond.

We strongly believe that all business and organisations should avoid harming the human rights of people, environments, and the wellbeing of society at large. We follow local and international laws, regulations, customs, and culture. And we carefully consider the interests of all our stakeholders: employees, customers, business relations, suppliers, and society at large.
Labour

We are committed to creating an open culture for all our employees where everyone feels safe to speak up. Every employee has the right to free participation in labour unions, staff representation, and works councils.

Planon has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, including human trafficking, all forms of servitude, and forced and compulsory labour, within our organisation and supply chain.

We respect international treaties regarding child labour and contribute to the effective abolition of child labour.

We strive for a diverse workforce and diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) are essential components of our mission. We recruit, employ, and promote our colleagues based on their qualities and abilities, and do not discriminate in any manner.
Environment

We recognise that our activities have environmental impacts, and we aim to reduce these impacts to zero. We integrate the consideration of environmental concerns and impacts into all our decision making and operations, and are committed to reducing our CO2 emissions.

At Planon, we see the need to work together on the road to net-zero. We are committed to communicate our environmental commitments to suppliers, customers, internal stakeholders, and society at large to encourage them to support our cause.

We are not only striving to make our own operations more sustainable, but we are also actively helping our customers to become more sustainable and transparent with our Smart Sustainable Building Management software solutions.
Anti-corruption

We respect our competition and a healthy market. To safeguard fair business practices, Planon has incorporated competition and anti-bribery guidelines.

Sustainability Scholarship Programme

Planon participated as first corporate partner in the IFMA Foundation's Eric Teicholz Sustainability Facility Professional® (SFP®) Scholarship Programme. The goal of the SFP Partner Programme is to provide sustainability-related education beyond the original programme’s yearly scholarships. Participating as Programme Partner in the initiative provides an opportunity for organisations to support a sustainable future, creating a generation of facility management leaders committed to environmental best practices.

Planon founded the first additional programme to the scholarship in 2022 and 2023 - which is related to the use of technology for sustainable FM practices - and has committed 3 additional scholarships per year for 2024-2026. Data and technology are vital components for facility managers to reduce their companies’ greenhouse gas emissions and other ecological footprints – eventually enabling a net-zero emissions future based on green growth.
