As a global company, we recognise that our operations have environmental impacts. We put a lot of effort into continuously assessing our operational footprint to understand this impact. This enables us to prioritise our efforts towards optimising our operations and take actions to reduce or remove adverse environmental effects.

Planon has implemented a sustainability reporting standard to measure, manage and report on its sustainability performance. This framework is based on the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, a widely recognised standard for measuring and reporting greenhouse gas emissions.

We want sustainable and liveable workplaces for all our employees. It is our goal to collect all necessary energy consumption data to make informed decisions that contribute to the decrease in our annual emissions. Planon is already able to measure the daily energy consumption and emission of our HQ due to a direct software connection with our energy supplier. We are working to achieve the same for our other offices.

Electric vehicles & work-related travel

To gain insights into our travel footprint, Planon reports on air and land travel. Measuring and diminishing fossil-fuelled cars is step one. The next step is completely abolishing our petrol-powered cars and replacing our global fleet with electric vehicles. In addition, we pursue transportation of goods and employees with the least environmental burden possible including the lowest air emission possible.

Tree planting programme

Planon rewards trees to engaged users of our employee advocacy programme. This is done through tree-nation. It is tree-nation's mission to reforest the world by planting trees and engaging in conservation projects all over the world. Since the start of the programme in mid 2023, Planon has rewarded 2,321 trees as of Janauary 2025, which have reforested 3.88 hectares and caputred 190.4 tonnes of CO2. This way it aims to have a positive impact on the local environment, the local populations, and the climate. Planon supports tree-nation's mission and helps it get closer to its goal of planting 1 trillion trees by 2050.

Energy & Sustainability Management

We are not only striving to make our own operations more sustainable. We are also actively helping our customers to become more sustainable and transparent with our Energy & Sustainability Management Solution. Seeing how the built world is responsible for 40% of the global CO2 emissions, corporate buildings have an enormous part to play in reaching a net-zero future.

Facility managers are therefore under increasing pressure to be transparent about the energy and sustainability performance of their building portfolios and identifying areas to improve.
