Throughout his 25+ years in marketing, John has followed a career path marked by significant achievements, which brings him to his current role as Senior Solution Marketer at Planon. Starting his career in marketing as Marketing Coordinator at Autodesk, and further exploring different marketing positions at companies like Landis ICT Group, Cegeka and Philips, he has developed strong communication and interpersonal skills.
John's career has involved developing and executing marketing plans, managing budgets, organising events, and leading successful integrated campaigns, which have resulted in significant increases in revenue and customer satisfaction. At Cegeka, his main focus was on campaigns and customer satisfaction, where he proved his innovative attitude by introducing the NPS and CES measurements, helping the company to better understand its customers . Among his creative and strategic work, John is particularly proud of his campaign ‘Give green light to continuous learning’, a successful, innovative marketing activity.
As a former board member of NIMA (the #1 Dutch Marketing Association) SMP, John values professional development and continuous learning. His experience across diverse industries and roles has given him a broad understanding of the marketing discipline. At Planon, he creates and advises on successful go-to-market strategies for Planon solutions, with a primary focus on the Integrated Workplace Management Solution, Smart Buildings and IoT.
His eyes are always on market trends and events and his main focus is driving growth and market share by developing strong value propositions and pricing models. John also uses his creative skills at Planon, creating unique sales enablement content and benchmark research to support Sales colleagues.
John likes to read books, especially English literature. Among his most favourite authors are John Irving, John Green, Joseph Heller, and Bill Bryson, but he also likes the occasional John Grisham and Greek myths. Truth be told: he has read all Grisham’s books (40+). He likes to take his mountain bike for a spin on one of the many trails in his ‘back garden’. Having a nice cup of coffee in town is also one of his favourite pastimes, as is spending time with his three kids.
