6 March, 2025 – Planon, the global leader in smart sustainable building management solutions, has reached a significant milestone: its entities in Frankfurt and Duisburg have successfully achieved ISO 14001 certification. This expansion of the company’s Environmental Management System (EMS) certification builds on the strong foundation already established by its Dutch entities, which have once again been recertified. These achievements further reinforce Planon’s commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainability.

The audit, conducted by Kiwa - an independent global organisation specialising in testing, inspection, certification, training, and consultancy - confirmed that Planon’s EMS meets the stringent requirements of ISO 14001. The auditors evaluated Planon’s environmental management practices, ensuring compliance with international standards aimed at reducing environmental impact and promoting continuous improvement.
‘This enhanced certification reflects Planon’s continued commitment to sustainability,’ said Peter Ankerstjerne, CEO at Planon. ‘Expanding our ISO 14001 certification highlights our proactive approach to environmental stewardship and our dedication to reducing our ecological footprint across all operations. Coupled with our recent EcoVadis Platinum recognition - placing us among the top 1% of companies assessed globally - this achievement underscores our drive to embed sustainability at the core of our business.’
To maintain certification, Planon’s EMS will undergo annual audits by Kiwa, ensuring that the company continues to enhance its environmental performance.
