People, ideas, and solutions that make an impact
EXPO REAL in Munich was once again a place full of energy this year. Our team had the opportunity to hold numerous conversations, gain new insights, and discuss the future of the real estate industry together with prospects, partners, and clients.
A meeting point for exchange and new perspectives
At our stand, there was a lot of discussion, laughter, and planning. We were especially pleased about the interview of our CRO Klaas Bosma with Jörg Seifert, Managing Editor of the Haufe Group, as part of the L’Immo Podcasts. The topics included current trends and challenges in the real estate industry and how digitalisation is transforming the sector – particularly in the area of ESG.
The podcast also addressed the classic dilemma between owners and tenants: the owner must invest in sustainable measures, while the tenant benefits from them. Klaas Bosma explained that Planon can provide concrete support here, both financially and operationally. By analysing ESG measures, it is possible to understand the financial added value that sustainable properties bring: higher rental income, better exit values, green premiums, or the avoidance of brown discounts. At the same time, companies can use Planon to assess how investments affect day-to-day operations and whether they genuinely contribute to greater sustainability.
Another highlight was the RICS Roundtable, which we had the pleasure of hosting together with RICS Germany. Under the title ‘How do we close the skills gap?’, experts came together to discuss the future of education and skilled professionals. The focus was on the size of the skills gap, its causes – from demographic changes to missing technical skills – and possible solutions. Many exciting ideas and experiences contributed to a lively discussion that resonated long after the event.
RICS uses such formats to promote exchange and attract talent. Initiatives like the student campaign "Shape the world, build your future" or Minecraft Goes Green demonstrate how interest is sparked at an early stage. At the same time, a Skills Survey is currently underway, providing valuable insights into existing gaps and trends, so that members can develop the right skills today and in the future.
As part of an engaging panel discussion, experts from Planon, HILTI, Deloitte and SAP explored the opportunities and challenges of digital transformation in Facility and Real Estate Management. Moderated by Dr Liss Christine Werner (Planon), the discussion focused on synergies between SAP and Planon, practical insights from industry, technology and innovation, as well as the customer perspective on smart processes and secure data integration. Participants gained valuable insights for future-oriented and efficient building management.
There was also reason for business celebration: we welcomed a new client, CE INVEST HOLDING AG, to our client network. And with our long-standing client KGAL GmbH & Co. KG, we celebrated the successful transition from bison.box Classic to the bison.box Cloud – an important step towards greater efficiency and flexibility.
A strong team and many great conversations
Whether over coffee, on stage, or between appointments, it was evident everywhere how much passion and expertise exists in our industry. We thank all visitors, partners, and colleagues for their openness, the engaging conversations, and the great atmosphere throughout the fair.
