July 7th, 2015 - Amsterdam ArenA, the largest stadium in the Netherlands, has joined Planon in a three-year partnership. By combining their knowledge and experience, they will fulfill Amsterdam ArenA’s facility management and sustainability ambitions.
“The objective of Amsterdam ArenA is to use the unique Stadium Management Concept to become the world’s leading stadium,” says Henk van Raan, Director Facility Management for Amsterdam ArenA. “We are working closely to this end with a variety of market-leading parties, including Planon. With its innovative Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS), Planon will support us in the continuous innovation of our facilities service and adapting this service proactively to our clients’ changing demands. For example, the solution offers us the ability to measure, monitor, report and ultimately reduce energy consumption, carbon emissions and the related costs for the stadium, in a structured way.”
The recently-opened Amsterdam ArenA Innovation Centre is focused on innovations to “smarten” the stadium as well as the city of Amsterdam, and is intended to grow to become the ultimate knowledge and innovation center in the Netherlands for smart and sustainable stadiums and cities. With its partners, Amsterdam ArenA is working on a variety of innovative solutions involving stadium development, mobility, waste, energy and connectivity. To stimulate innovation in facilities services operation, Amsterdam ArenA – which has been a Planon client since 2006 – has opted for Planon’s cloud solution.
“Amsterdam ArenA and Planon have a shared ambition to create an innovative platform which links all parties involved in the management and use of the stadium, in an ongoing improvement process,” says Marcel Groenenboom, General Manager BeNeLux for Planon. “We are honored that Amsterdam ArenA has opted again for Planon software to be able to realize the stadium’s optimum performance.”
With Planon’s cloud solution, the stadium integrates all the facilities partners in one platform, creating more transparency and flexibility, as well as better insight into the quality of the service providers, and the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) is reduced where possible.
