Cookie Policy

Effective Date: September 25, 2019

This Cookies Policy describes the different types of cookies and similar technologies that may be applied on websites of Planon.

We may change this Cookies Policy at any time. Please take a look at the “Effective Date” legend at the top of this page to see when this Cookies Policy was last revised. Any changes in this Cookies Policy will become effective when we make the revised Cookies Policy available on or through the Site. Please also note the additional general information on data protection information in our Privacy Policy.

Cookies are a standard feature of websites that allow us to store small amounts of data on your computer about your visit to the Site. Cookies help us to learn which areas of the Site are useful and which areas need improvement.

You can choose whether to accept specific cookies through our cookie tool (Cookiebot, see below) or by changing the settings on your browser. However, if you disable this function, your experience on the Site may be diminished and some features may not work as intended.

What Cookies do we use?

Below we list the different types of cookies that may be used on the Site. The Site uses both 1st party cookies (which are set by the Site being visited) and 3rd party cookies (which are set by a server located outside the domain of the Site). When entering our website a cookie banner is displayed which allows you to provide your consent with regard to the different categories of cookies, except for essential cookies. The legal basis for the data processing is Article 6 sec. 1 sent. 1 lit. a GDPR. You may also refuse to provide and withdraw your consent. Please note that in these cases the use of our website might be restricted.

Essential cookies

Essential cookies enable you to navigate the Site and to use its services and features. Without these absolutely necessary cookies, the Site will not perform as smoothly for you as we would like it to and we may not be able to provide the Site or certain services or features. The legal basis for the related data processing is Article 6 sec. 1 sent. 1 lit. b GDPR.

Preference cookies

Preference cookies enable a website to remember information that changes the way the website behaves or looks, like your preferred language or the region that you are in.

Marketing cookies

Marketing cookies are used to track visitors across websites. The intention is to display ads that are relevant and engaging for the individual user and thereby more valuable for publishers and third party advertisers. We use 2 different type of Marketing cookies: Social Media Cookies and Advertising Cookies.

  • Social Media Cookies
Social media cookies collect information about social media usage. Besides, this website has buttons and icons to promote or share web pages (to “like” or “tweet”). These buttons only work when using scripts and codes that are generated by Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. This code generates cookies. We do not have any influence on this. Please read Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn and Twitter’s privacy statement (which can change often) to read what they use your personal details for by using these cookies.

According to the social media providers, the information they collect is stored anonymously. The information is sent by and to Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn on servers in the United States. A proper level of protection of the use of any possible personal details applies.

  • Advertising Cookies
Advertising cookies are set to display targeted promotions or advertisements based upon your interests on the Site or to manage our advertising. These cookies collect information about your activities on this and other sites to provide you targeted advertising. Its only purpose is to match advertisement to your profile, which makes them as relevant and interesting to you as possible.

Facebook and we are jointly responsible for processing Insights data for the purposes of analyzing user behavior on our Site and fan page and have entered into an agreement pursuant to Art. 26 GDPR. The main content of the agreement can be found on the Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/legal/terms/information_about_page_insights_data). The full agreement is also available online: https://www.facebook.com/legal/terms/page_controller_addendum.

Analytics cookies

Analytics cookies collect information about your use of the Site, and enable us to improve the way it works. For example, analytics cookies show us which are the most frequently visited pages on the Site, help us record any difficulties you have with the Site, and show us whether our advertising is effective or not. This allows us to see the overall patterns of usage on the Site, rather than the usage of a single person. We use the information to analyse the Site traffic, but we do not examine this information for individually identifying information.

Google Analytics sets cookies in order to evaluate your use of the website and compile reports for us on activity on the site. We have activated the IP anonymization function on this website. As a result, your IP address is truncated by Google within member states of the European Union or other Contracting States to the Agreement on the European Economic Area prior to transmission to the United States. Only in exceptional cases the full IP address will be transmitted to a Google server in the United States and truncated there. For the exceptional cases in which personal data is transferred to the USA, Google has submitted to the EU-US Privacy Shield, https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework.

Google stores the information collected by the cookie on servers in the United States. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. We did not allow Google to use the statistics for other Google services. Google will not share any anonymous data with third parties. Read more about Google’s privacy policy https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en.
