Data Engineer

Together with Giovanni, our data engineer, you will ensure our data platform functions effectively and gathers data from various source systems. This platform enables another team to create reports that provide valuable insights for our internal stakeholders. By doing so, you foster collaboration and support informed decision-making.

Job description
We are currently migrating from our legacy SQL-based data warehouse environment to a new platform in Azure Synapse, working with PySpark and T-SQL.

Key responsibilities:

  • Focus on the migration to the new data environment while remaining partly responsible for maintaining the old platform until the transition is complete.
  • Handle technical support tickets, including customer contact for IT incidents and change requests.
  • Add new data sources, such as applications, to the platform for reporting and analytics purposes.
  • Work with tools like (T-)SQL, PySpark, Azure Synapse, and ETL processes, while developing your skills in technologies like Microsoft Fabric, Machine Learning, and AI.

Our IT department supports the organization in IT and Data. Our data team works closely with internal stakeholders. Within the department, you will collaborate with our data engineer and work alongside application administrators.

Additionally, you bring:

  • At least 3 years of work experience as a Data Engineer*
  • Experience with Python, PySpark, SQL, and Azure (Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, Data Lake)
    Familiarity with DWH/ETL processes, data modeling, CI/CD, and APIs
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum
  • Proficiency in English is a must; Dutch is a plus
