Derrek Clarke

Derrek, a registered architect in the US, begin his career working in New York for a range of architectural firms where he contributed to the design and construction of commercial office spaces and residential properties. As his architectural career progressed, Derrek spent seven years working for global architecture, engineering, and planning firm HOK. His time at HOK included the coordination of technical design and construction management for a diverse range of healthcare facilities and an airport.

Derrek then diversified his career through a Senior Building Technology Analyst role with Verdantix in London. There he led research into smart building software solutions to support clients with marketing, product management, and competitive intelligence strategies. Derrek’s research into building technology solutions was published through Verdantix.

Derrek then began working for Planon, a leading supplier of facility and field services management software, as well as IWMS and CAFM solutions. During this time, Derrek has worked within product (solution) marketing and is responsible for the positioning of Planon’s solutions for the facility service provider market. As an Asset and Maintenance Management subject matter expert, he is a regular contributor to facility service conferences and webinars.
