As a junior legal counsel you will provide legal support to the companies and departments of Planon while working with world-leading clients!
The Planon Legal Department consists of 5 legal counsels located in the Netherlands, Germany and the USA; you will join the legal team at Planon’s headquarter in Nijmegen, the Netherlands.
You will be an integral part of our legal team, supporting various legal functions to ensure compliance and mitigate risks across the organization. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a recent law school graduate or junior legal professional to gain valuable experience in a dynamic and innovative technology company environment.

You will start to work in close cooperation with and under the guidance of the Legal Counsels within the Planon Legal Department and gradually you will obtain more and more ownership and responsibilities.

You successfully fulfill your role by:

  • Drafting and negotiating contracts of customer related IT-agreements and supplier related purchase agreements;
  • Continuously improving the contracting and contract management process;
  • Advising and supporting implementation of special projects or areas (e.g. new business models, software platform licensing models, partnering structures etc.);
  • Maintain up-to-date legal knowledge level and keep Planon informed about applicable new regulations, laws and case laws;
  • Understanding the company targets and acting professionally and efficiently in supporting and meeting these in compliance with the mission of the Planon Legal Department;
  • Pro-actively contribute to the high quality of the Planon Legal Department in adding value to the company.

The mission of the Planon Legal Department is delivering high quality and efficient legal support to all companies and departments within the Planon Group, in order to mitigate risks and to add a sustainable competitive advantage in compliance with applicable laws and Planon policies.

Our ideal candidate meets the following criteria:

  • A Master's degree law, preferably specialized in IT, Privacy and/or contract related law;
  • None to 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role as an in-house legal counsel in an international setting or a law firm;
  • Affinity with reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide variety of IT agreements such as software license- & SaaS agreements with related maintenance, support and SLA components, consultancy agreements, and purchase agreements;
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent in English and Dutch;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research and analyze complex legal issues;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Dutch, with the ability to effectively communicate legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders;
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively;
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment;
