Function

As Senior Financial Accountant, you will find yourself in a broad, challenging playing field. Recently acquired by Planon, ControlIT is forming part of our Business Line Real Estate. You will be responsible for correct financial statements and monthly internal reporting .

ControlIT is gradually adjusting to Planon’s way of working and you will be pivotable in adopting the Planon work methods.

Our team

We work in a global Finance organization. Your hierarchical manager will be the manager Finance & Accounting and forms part of the team of Financial Accountants around the globe. You will work closely with the local administrators as well as with the Business Line Controller and with the local management.

The following topics will be your main focus:

  • Ensures all financial transactions and all controls of the assigned legal entities, including reconciliation of subledger and subsystems are performed and documented correctly and in a timely manner
  • Ensures financial result of the assigned legal entities and business area is reported according to group standards on a monthly basis and provides input to Business Line Control and group reporting
  • Prepare annual statements, statutory and consolidated. Guide legal entities through the external audit and ensure compliancy with local accounting standards (in this case HgB)
  • Ensure the legal entities are compliant with local tax regulations
  • Contribute in optimizing the forecast/budget model and process, provide input on the actual performance and check and challenge the input from people involved
  • Provide practical guidelines: as an accounting expert, you interpret changes in rules and regulations, you assess accounting issues and have valuable input for the financial reporting and the accounting manual.
  • Participation in improvement projects: as we are growing, change is inevitable. You are the gatekeeper that all financial accounting and reporting remains reliable and is available on time.

Profile

We are looking for a person with an open, enthusiastic character and like to work in an environment with different cultures and personalities. You should be able to work independently and show initiative. Getting things done comes natural to you. Also, knowing how to prioritize and organize makes your work a lot easier. You should be willing to travel throughout Germany occasionally as well as to our HQ in The Netherlands

Our ideal candidate meets the following requirements:

  • Masters’ degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of approximately 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with modern bookkeeping software
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Good speaking and writing skills in English and German
  • Affinity with IT and software
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills, ability to analyze and understand complex organizational and reporting structures
