Sustainability Software Launch

7 November 2012 – Planon has today announced the availability of its Sustainability Management Solution. The new software will enable organisations to analyse their sustainability footprint by capturing an accurate view of how resources such as energy, gas, water, waste and the transport of people are being consumed across the business. The solution integrates with a company’s existing energy management tools or smart meters so that firms can re-use their data to identify where they are wasting energy, how operational costs can be reduced, and how to improve sustainability to comply with reporting standards and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) guidelines.

The Sustainability Management Solution provides businesses with information on all aspects of building operations so that firms can streamline existing real estate management processes and manage maintenance expenditure in a way that is both cost-effective and meets the latest industry regulations. Based on the availability of accurate information, organisations can then develop green strategies that revolve around achieving clearly defined goals and controlled improvements.

Pierre Guelen – CEO of Planon says: “An increasing awareness of green issues means that businesses are becoming more focused on introducing sustainability initiatives. Using one integrated platform that combines facilities, real estate, maintenance and sustainability management software means that organisations can streamline processes and connect all influencers of energy usage into one solution. By having accurate information about costs, consumption and emissions easily available, firms can ensure that they are well equipped to identify the best energy reduction opportunities that can save them money.”

Planon’s Sustainability Management Solution enables businesses to:

  • Structurally measure relevant data with a broad range of dashboards and KPIs for analysing costs, consumption and carbon emissions across the entire organisation;
  • Record all necessary documents and audit information to ensure compliance with key standards, such as BREEAM and LEED;
  • Maximise audit results by executing internal audits prior to external assessments, and translating these results into programmes and projects on the basis of well-documented knowledge;
  • Integrate sustainability improvements with other areas, such as real estate, space and workplace or maintenance services, to ensure alignment and best practice.

After defining measurements and actions, Planon’s Sustainability Solution helps organisations to achieve result-focussed operational excellence on sustainability initiatives while delivering wider benefits back to the business.
